I have practiced photography for over 15 years as an amateur. Professionally I started working 5 years ago. I can think of nothing finer to do with my time. This passion becomes from my Grandfather, He was an amateur photographer and I will always remember the first glimpse at the darkroom, watching him working… the red light, the chemistry smell, that few fragments of time that light collided against the white paper and in the revelation process, when the picture started appearing I felt a magic moment. I was 6 years old and that moment will live in my heart forever.
My background studies are in Graphic design. I Have a BA (HONS) Design for Multimedia from University of Wolverhampton, England (waiting for the diploma). You can see my work at www.kultivation.com .No, I don’t have any course in Photography. All my formation comes from books, Internet and interaction with other photographers. But as so many Photographers will testify, technical knowledge of the camera and the mechanics of photography only amount to less than 5% of the Photographer’s Art. The other 95% is about developing the creative vision.
I consider myself as a motivated person with an outgoing personality. In Art I always question everything; I like to challenge every assumption, every unwritten rule. I like to experiment freely in the knowledge that these experiments may provide a sense of clarify to the project.
I love all categories of Photography, but fashion is definitely my favorite. I also like to shoot weddings. I think no other photographic subject is more demanding. Is a must to master a variety of types of photography and perform under pressure in a very limited time frame. An “eagle eye” is absolutely necessary to capture the fleeting moments that often go unrecorded. The work needs to be perfect as this day is the day of dreams for the couple.
At the moment I’m living in Paris looking for an opportunity to work with other photographers to improve my knowledge and see different approaches of creativity vision. Apart from being working as a freelancer I worked in the Jorge Pinto Lobo studio which helped me to give my firsts steps in the professional photography and sharpen my journalistic vision.
Apart from Photography, Orchids are my other passion. Is not just about the different shapes and colors that makes them another pretty flower, but yet what makes the reigning magic of the orchid is their invisible power of communication. I also like to play the piano, advertising, cinema, going out, design, contemporary art, Pro evolution soccer, the sea and Sunshine.
